CWLS Counter Weight Operated Limit Switches Type Limit switch operates the control change-over contacts of motor of moving equipment when a cam moving with loads actuates the lever the weight rests on a surface of Limit switch. 

The lever of Counter Weight Operated Limit Switches is released due to the counter weight fixed on lever and two contacts cut off two phases of motor, the switch is automatically resetting type. When the snatch block of the crane reaches its top position the snatch block pushes a plate which is hanging from one end of the lever of the CWLS Switch. 

Due to the weight placed on the other end of the lever this lever is pushed up. When the lever is pushed up the shaft to which this lever is connected rotates there by rotating the cams which eventually open the contacts and disconnect the motor. The CWLS Counter Weight Operated Limit Switches contacts are automatically reset when the lever returns to zero position due to gravitational force.

Operation:

When the snatch block of the crane reaches its top position the snatch block pushes a plate which is hanging from one end of the lever of the CWLS Counter Weight Operated Limit Switches. Due to the weight placed on the other end of the lever this lever is pushed up.
